* Founded in 1973, Boulder Valley Health Center (BVHC) is a small outpatient community clinic that has been a leader in providing reproductive and sexual health services, abortion, and education to all people, including those who face barriers to accessing high-quality and equitable healthcare.
BVHC’s Controller will be a strategic thought partner who is an integral member of BVHC’s leadership team.
They will report to the CEO and supervise the accounting and revenue cycle teams while working closely with our staff and Board of Directors (BOD).

* *Essential Duties & Responsibilities:* * Coordinates, leads, and supervises the organization's finance, accounting, and revenue cycle functions and staff.
Advises the CEO and Sr.
Leadership on cash flow and management, working capital, internal controls, and regulatory matters.
* Serves as the point of contact for the Board Treasurer, serves on and leads the Board finance committee, and participates in all Board meetings, as appropriate.
* Tracks financial, revenue cycle, and operational metrics (KPIs) and prepares and presents financial results to the CEO, Finance Committee, BOD, and Leadership.
* Oversees grant allocations and tracking, compliance, and financial reporting requirements.
* Works with the Development executive leader to ensure timely delivery of financial reports for foundation and grant reports, per grant awards and contracts.
* Leads and oversees the annual budgeting process, working collaboratively with the staff and orchestrating the budget roll-up while working one-on-one with each executive on their team’s budget.
* Oversees the implementation of this new accounting software in collaboration with the Senior Accountant, taking BVHC from Sage Business Works to QBO.
* Oversees department manuals for proper documentation of processes and the creation of redundancy in all roles.
* Oversees the annual financial statement audit, working with external auditors to ensure a smooth process.
* Safeguards assets and ensures accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing discipline of internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments.
* Manages all property, liability (including directors and officers), cyber insurance, and medical provider insurance coverage.
* Remains current on best practices in nonprofit finance, business system and internal control measures, and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations.
* Manages relationships with banks, vendors, and insurance providers.
Oversees the negotiation and administration of vendor contracts.
*Job Qualifications*: *Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:* * Application and understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial management.
* Highly efficient in revenue cycle management to oversee all tasks assigned to the revenue cycle department staff.
* Advanced use of QuickBooks Online * Office365, Sage Business Works, and NextGen EPM/EMR systems experience is a plus.
* Successful track record in setting priorities, completing projects, and consistently meeting or exceeding goals.
* Excellent relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with various stakeholders.
* Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong desire to learn, adapt, and problem-solve.
* A strong attention to detail, organized work style, and independent follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
* Education or Formal Training: A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
*Experience:* * Seven years of senior-level leadership experience, accounting and financial management, risk management, budget preparation, and staff supervision, preferably with experience in nonprofit organizations and healthcare.
* Experience with non-profit healthcare finance preferred.
* Experience working with Federal Title X, CDPHE, and local government grants preferred.
