Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in program or project management.
6 years of experience working within the sustainability space.
Preferred qualifications: Experience influencing and collaborating across large-scale organizations to drive new programs.
Experience in climate and energy science, standards and policy, including developing and leading novel thought leadership positions, leading climate partnerships and coalitions and/or working with governmental stakeholders and similar institutions to advance progress on clean energy and climate change.
Experience with written and verbal communication across executive leadership team, peers, managers, and staff.
Experience in global sustainability, with the knowledge of the strategies and priorities within global regions.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to develop science-based positions, policies, and options to advance Google’s Net Zero goals and to influence rapid, system-wide decarbonization progress across the global economy.
You will be responsible for developing overall thought leadership and technical positions in this area.
You will work within a team with expertise in Green House Gas (GHG) standards and protocols, climate science and research, and methods for accelerating policy and market change in support of Net Zero goals.
The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions.
We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks.
We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities Develop ideas and positions that inform Google’s approach to decarbonization and enable durable actions that can be scaled in the broader ecosystem.
Generate scholarship and thought leadership that support transparency and understanding of Net Zero goals and provide solutions for how to transform policies and markets.
Conduct analysis on the impact of decarbonization actions, policies, and regulations on Google’s Net Zero goals to ensure corporate actions are maximized and recognized.
Understand the evolving landscape and complex set of factors that contribute to corporate and global Net Zero and how to align incentives around measurable impacts.
Collaborate cross-functionally on the development and adoption of Net Zero positions with internal partner teams (e.
g.
, energy, sustainability, communications, marketing, and public policy).
