Red Canyon Software is looking for a talented Senior Software engineer with over 10+ years of experience to assist the GSE team with an aerospace telecommunications program!
Contract position lasting 9-12 months initially, with extension possible.
Location: Broomfield, CO Qualifications Ideal candidates for this role have a history of owning and managing software projects, yet also enjoy jumping into the weeds to write/debug new software when needed You are confident defining project requirements, timelines and resources, and can determine appropriate architectures based on the goals of each project; whether that be a quick turnaround for R&D, or accuracy and repeatability for production You are an excellent communicator, and a big believer in clear documentation and continuous improvement BEng in Computer Science or equivalent experience Minimum 10+ years in a related field Working familiarity interfacing with low level hardware; comfortable analyzing datasheets, interacting with registers to configure parameters, acquire data, and debug issues at the byte level Proficiency in Python, C, C++ Familiarity with test hardware ecosystems (eg NI; Labview, PXI, cDAQ) Prior experience implementing and maintaining test frameworks (eg Understanding of PCB fabrication techniques; familiarity with factors that define the quality, complexity, functionality and manufacturability of PCBs Prior experience working in a workshop/lab environment Comfortable using electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers and other tools Familiar with grounding, ESD and standard lab safety Ability to handle real-time priority shifts and appropriately deal with uncertainty Experience working in small-medium fast paced teams, where communication and respect for each other’s time is paramount Must be a U.

citizen Prior experience owning and architecting an automated hardware testing platform from the ground up Ability to quickly turnaround small projects using widely available sensors and SBCs (do magic with a Raspberry Pi or Arduino) Prior experience developing software for medium -> high volume production environments, where your software is used by technicians from the EMS Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in an international environment Good communication skills, team spirit and sense of human relationships Interest in growing your skillset as part of our international team Responsibilities Management of GSE software projects – architecture definition, documentation, resource allocation, timelines and progress reporting Working with product owners and engineering teams to determine the list of requirements and technical scope for GSE projects Recommending test equipment instruments, ecosystems and software platforms best suited to our testing needs Strategically determining what capabilities are built in-house vs.
