About the Role: As Lab DevOps Engineer, you will be part of the software team responsible for providing our world-class team of physicists with all the tools they need to build and enhance our quantum computers, with an emphasis on supporting the operational environment in our labs.
The ideal candidate is a strong learner who can balance moving quickly with an emphasis on customer-ready deliverables.
You will play a crucial and hands-on role in enhancing the way we deploy and maintain the software we develop for our quantum computing systems.
You will manage and improve communication between the development team and our end users, and help shape and execute the software development process, strategy and roadmap that is aligned to business value.
You will work in partnership with our IT teams to ensure integration and alignment with our critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Leverage your understanding of laboratory systems and users to develop new software products and features to keep the full-stack software system modern and performant.
Automate the deployment and management of containerized and bare-metal services that are part of our quantum computing system.
Collaborate with software engineers, system operators, and IT staff to manage software deployments, system updates, and troubleshoot issues within the lab space and supporting on-prem infrastructure.
Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software delivery.
Leverage your expertise and work with others to spread DevOps best practices across the entire team.
Support the software running in the labs, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions any systemic problems you identify.
Report regularly on the progress of CI/CD pipelines and process improvement to management and users.
Provide your expertise to properly scope and plan specific projects, and ensure common sense schedules that include time to do things the right way.
Identify and automate manual processes and tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce human error.
Occasional travel up to 10% may be expected.
YOU MUST HAVE: Bachelor's degree Minimum 4+ years of experience (graduate experience included) in engineering, lab, or R&D environment Minimum 2+ years of experience in a DevOps or DevSecOps role with virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Rancher Applicants for employment for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Quantinuum.

Experience developing with Python, Groovy, Java, Go, or similar languages Experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, Influx, Grafana, Telegraf, RabbitMQ Experience integrating a diverse set of components including hardware and software, particularly in a fast-paced or laboratory environment.
Experience developing code interfacing with laboratory equipment including sensors and controllers Proficiency with software testing and deployment tools Expertise developing software for Linux environments; proficiency in Windows environments Willingness to be flexible in meeting the demands of a fast-moving business.
